RunOnFlat Technology

RunOnFlat Technology

Featuring reinforced shoulders, RunOnFlat tyres are designed to allow drivers to continue their journey in the event of a puncture in the tyre tread. This allows the tyre to continue to carry the weight of the vehicle over a limited distance of around 50 miles at around 50mph, unless the vehicle manufacturer handbook states otherwise.

Rim Protection Technology

Rim Protection Technology

This technology features a thick band around the rim of the tyre to protect both the rim and tyre against curb rash. A great addition for vans and commercial vehicle drivers making deliveries.

Electric Vehicle (EV) ready

All new and current Goodyear tires are optimized to provide exceptional performance for electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, as evidenced by the new Goodyear EV-Ready logo that has been introduced on the sidewall of all new replacement tires starting in early 2024.

Goodyear has developed a toolkit of technologies to suit both EVs and other powertrains including:

  • SoundComfort Technology: Drivers become more aware of noise created by tires and roads interaction as the most noticeable change in EV’s is just how quiet the car is. To ensure the EV journey stays as quiet as possible, SoundComfort technology has the potential to reduce interior noise up to 50%.
  • Mileage Plus Technology: As EV’s are heavier than traditional vehicles, there can be more wear on electric car tires. Combined with instant torque this can cause standard tires to wear more quickly, also depending on the driving behaviour. Using technologies such as the Mileage Plus Technology, the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2, for example, can give drivers up to 50% more mileage than its predecessor.
  • Rolling Resistance Technologies: Goodyear’s Low Rolling Resistance technologies contribute to reducing energy consumption and extending the driving range. Extending the driving range can be achieved by optimizing the tire structure, in combination with developing innovative compounds and aerodynamically tuning the sidewall design

EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 2 - Summer Tire - 225/40/R18/92W
High-performance handling
Get more from your high-powered car. The high-surface silica compound enhances grip, for confident handling on wet and dry roads. A stiff carcass structure increases steering precision when travelling at speed. Recently chosen as a factory-fitted tyre for the new Mercedes-Benz CLS.
Shorter braking distances on wet and dry roads
Stop with confidence when split seconds count thanks to ActiveBraking technology, which increases tyre contact with the road as you brake. In tests against leading competitors, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 delivered three metres shorter braking on wet roads and two metres shorter on dry roads.
Greater fuel efficiency
Goodyear’s FuelSaving Technology helps you cut fuel costs and CO2 emissions. A low-weight construction means the tyre requires less energy to roll, while the silica compound reduces heat generation.

EU Tyre Label

C
Fuel efficiency
Fuel efficiency is a measure of the tyre's rolling resistance. A tyre with low rolling resistance is fuel efficient because it requires less energy to roll. Fuel efficiency is rated from A (highest rating) to E (lowest rating).
A
Wet grip
Wet grip measures the braking ability of the tyre on wet surfaces. Wet grip is rated from A (shortest stopping distance) to E (longest stopping distance).
A
Exterior noise
Measures the tyre's noise level outside the vehicle in decibels. The noise class is rated from A (quiet) to C (loud).
