The Goodyear TPMS system takes the pressure off our drivers

At the BL Badenhop Logistik KG in Verden, Germany, they look after their drivers. Lüder Meyer, Logistics Manager, with responsibility for personnel as well as the fleet itself, explains that finding good drivers is one of the key challenges they face, along with the need to maintain their technical lead and operate their fleet at maximum efficiency. It is fortunate that the relationship with Goodyear helps him to address all three.

"We decided to equip the fleet with the Goodyear TPMS tyre control system to increase operational efficiency […] without burdening the driver."

As Lüder explains: “We decided to equip the fleet with the TPMS tyre control system to increase operational efficiency, and we chose Goodyear because we have always had good experiences with them. But I also know that drivers have to deal with a lot of data, so I liked the fact that TPMS sends data to headquarters – where we can react immediately to incidents without burdening the driver.”

Because TPMS ensures tyres remain at the perfect pressure, it also ensures the best fuel economy. Under-inflation by just 1 bar adds 900€/year to the typical running costs of each vehicle – and Lüder is also aware that the system helps to prevent time-consuming breakdowns: “I would definitely recommend Goodyear Proactive Solutions to other companies because it helps optimise fleet availability as well as reducing costs”.
